New BTSSB- Twinkle Dreaming

So Btssb have new items up for grabs. I think they are quite adorable as per usual but what do you think??

http://www.babyssb.co.jp/reserve/twinkle-dreaming/index.html

The reservation is starting this month, the 14th at 5pm. I'm not quite sure what timeline that means but I have a check.

The above is the jumperskirt to the left with the bow removed. Thankfully it is removable as I would have placed it in the centre, but it looks quite cute without it too.

From the Baby blog

"The princess's palace of dreams sits atop the highest peak in the realm, blanketed by puffs of cotton candy colored clouds. ♥ She enjoys sweet treats while soaking in idyllic views of the kingdom from her tower with her feline and canine companions."

It's available in the following colour schemes

* Cream x Cream Lace
* Pink x Off White Lace
* Navy x Navy Lace
* Black x Black Lace

I think some of the darker prints might look nicer but I haven't found a ful picture yet (I need to download the new Kera)

Let me know what you think :)

Farewell

60's are back!

With the popularity of Mad Men soaring it's no surprise to see the 60's back on the runway.

When we talk about this trend however we refer to the ladylike aspect of the early 60s and the late 50s.

So what to wear for this trend?

Full Skirts, the 60s Housewife.

As the 50s drew to a close the overflow of the prom dress into day wear became apparent.

The Granny Skirt

Okay I kow what you're thinking but I assure you that's what they called them in the 60s and done right will look cool :)

The key points in getting this look right are as follows:

  • Pair the skirt with a fitted top or a sheer blouse to avoid looking frumpy, also it'll make the outfit a bit sexier.
  • If you are going for a more authentic look wear with kitten heels or flats, fro a modern twist heels are a must.
  • If you want to sweeten it up do a Marc Jacobs (Fall 2010) and add a cute pair of bobby socks.
Sheath Skirts and Dresses.

For this it's more about the figure hugging aspect. For example the pencil skirt, which is one of the best ways in creating a 1960s hourglass shape as it cinches in the waist and clings to the hips.

Top Tips

  • Look for skirts that are straight, high waisted and below the knee with a kick pleat or slit at the back.

So on to accessorising!

  • Kitten Heels
  • Bold Red Lipstick (60s sex kitten) or Soft Pink for a more vintage look.
  • A wide, waist-cinching belt; a leather clutch in candy-store pastels; gloves; a classic headscarf.
  • Beehives or just a sexy sultry look.
So how would your take on this classic look be? I know I want to try it but add a bit of a twist. My twist would definetly involve of a romance and Hime, what about you?

Farewell and I hope to hear from you

A bit of Anarchy for 2011!

Punk Influence!

This is a continuation from what we saw last year. However instead of being a full trend this year it influences others. Punk has an ability toimpact on other trends e.g. Motorcycle Chic for 2011.

For 2011 instead of going full blown out with punk (in which you have a very high risk of looking like your cospalying Sid Vicious rather than being a rebel) try to incorporate it with other trends.

So what to wear then?

Try to use key points of the fashion and try not to over do them.

Studs!

If worn correctly and not almost like you could hurt someone with your clothing then in my eyes you've got it right.

Heavy Boots

Another part of punk that is quite important.

Doc Martens!

I feel that if you customise some part of your outfit to me that's what punk was all about when it came out.

And finally we reach the Safety Pins! Another major punk component. Although more so DIY back in the day.

Although many of the people from the first wave of punk disagree with safety pins being part of the fashion.

Johnny Rotton is one of them, who insists that safety pins were originally incorporated for more practical reasons, for example, to remedy "the arse of your pants falling out". It was then taken on by fans of the band and people getting into the fashion and now is seen as a staple of punk.

And thats Punk for 2011. Although I would like to see more of it coming back.

So Farewell for now

Mini Question Time!

I found this on LiveJournal and thought you might like to give it a try!

If it were up to you, what trend would you:

1.  Perpetuate forever:
2.  Kill off immediately:
3.  Raise like a zombie:
4.  Dance on the grave of:
5.  Jump on in a heartbeat:

((Or, if that's unclear:

1.  What current trend is your favorite?
2.  What current trend would you kill off?
3.  What past trend would you bring back?
4.  What old trend were you glad to see die?
5.  If you could start a trend, what would it be?))

1.  Perpetuate forever:
Dolly Kei and Mori Kei

I just love this style and love how you can bring them into Lolita.

2.  Kill off immediately:
Ita. I know it may never happen but omg do some people get it wrong.

Here's a link from one of my favourite blogs FYeahLolita. She shows you how not to be an ita.

http://www.fyeahlolita.com/2009/10/how-to-avoid-being-ita.html

3.  Raise like a zombie:
Mary Janes! I love them and own a pair that I love very much.

From the english brand T.U.K.

4.  Dance on the grave of:
Lolita and certain trends. Again I do reference FYeahLolita but she's awesome.

http://www.fyeahlolita.com/2009/10/lolitas-many-trends.html

But omg Lolita and Visual Kei? So many people get both wrong but when together its just a mess waiting to happen. The one that scared me the most was manba and Lolita. I love Hime Lolita but manba and lolita is wrong. (This is an old post on daily lolita and not to be taken seriously but if it ever fully happened... lets think happy thought eh? :) http://community.livejournal.com/daily_lolita/2359215.html#cutid1)

5.  Jump on in a heartbeat:
More pirate style. There is just something about Pirate Lolta that I love. Go Pirates of the Caribbean!

This is defo the best Pirate Lolita I've seen. (http://lunie-chan.livejournal.com/11467.html)

Wow I found a lot more Pirate Lolita but there still needs to be more. Along with a bit of Steampunk of course :)

So what about you? I want to hear what you have to think about Lolita you like or hate.

So till next time Farewell
